New Partnership Between HackerClub and Texas Education Agency

Fueling the sprit of coding teenagers over almost 8 years, HackerClub is an enormous organization with wide support for the interests of teenagers around the world. Countless students here within Texas have taken the support of club leaders in their schools and we hear of the enormous success of their events. For example, their Outer net hack-a-thon this summer got youth around from the entire world to work on projects together in Vermont, Vt, USA. It is from HackerClub that many students of UT Austin attribute their coding journey to, something that we love to hear about at our universities.

Sparking the fuse of excitement in students is the state of Texas's education goal, and we find that HackerClub best aligns with these goals. It is in our best interests to carry forward this new generation of studious young leaders in the Lonestar state, which is why we must support this prestigious organization. HackerClub supports students to open their own "HackerClubs" in their own highscools, which allows their peers to benefit from added knowledge after school. It is this program that we found interesting within HackerClub, and we would like to widen the scope of this to all high school students in the Texas state.

A new beginning — TEACH initiative

From the wide reach of their "Slack" online chats, we have found it important to increase the reach of this organization. Hence, we will be partnering with HackerClub to provide these clubs to all schools in the state of Texas. These clubs will be led by a qualified teacher with a minimum knowledge requirement of programming. The various tasks that these clubs will do will be great and spread knowledge to all students and bring the state of Texas to the forefront of computing, rivaling big tech hubs like the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and New York. Partnering with the University of Texas & Texas Education Agency means that HackerClub will be able to utilize our vast net of resources to spread the joy of computer programming to the future leaders of America. We hope that this new partnership will bring about a great step forward and positive changes to the state of Texas's student performance.

This great partnership will be named the TEACH initiative, and we hope to include more partners in the future as well.
